To whom it may concern, It is my pleasure to write this reference letter on behalf of Melissa Musso Melissa has been a teacher at Northmount Independent School for Boy’s for a year. She has proven to be a real asset to our Junior School and our Music Department. She has shown very strong classroom management skills as she taught all grades from Kindergarten to Grade 8. Melissa demonstrated a thorough knowledge of the Ontario Curriculum. Though not initially trained as a music teacher, she proved to be a quick study taking on several music classes using instruments such as: guitar, bass, ukulele, drums, and keyboard. Melissa created a labelling system for instruments to help her beginning students navigate their instruments. Much was accomplished as evidenced in our Christmas Concert, Kiwanis Festival Choir, and Spring Play. Melissa is a real team player. She worked mainly with a teacher in the Music Department, as well as a Dance Teacher, and a Grade 1 Language Arts instructor. The Grade 6 hip hop dance was presented at the Toronto Kiwanis Dance Competition; the boys took home the silver medal. In the Grade 1 Language Arts program, Melissa worked with her co-teachers and helped with classroom support in the duties of delivering lessons and marking. Also assisting other teachers with gym and religion classes Melissa was ready to take on any challenge. Her strong background in technology allowed her to assist in an online course. This was a great approach that the boys most enjoyed. Melissa has demonstrated a strong work ethic in all her daily duties. I can recommend her without reservation.
