Hello,

a bit about me:

I believe the children are our future.

I believe that every child has the ability to do anything they desire, if given the chance to explore and learn.  These are the young people who will be changing the world around us.  I believe strongly that every child has potential to create a great learning environment for themselves and for the others around them.

Each child has their own unique way of learning and it is my duty to provide for each style.  I will present the curriculum that involves the interest for each student.  I will incorporate all learning strands into each activity which will then present the best learning.  I will integrate themes, units, projects, group work, individual and hands-on learning.   Finally by connecting all learning into their own experience this will help the students become caring and active members of society.

Providing new experience and challenges for the students to learn and explore will develop the learning strategies that will be useful in the classroom. Meeting the 10 standards that Queensland offers, allows me to be flexible in my teaching strands.  Being hands on is a big part of my teaching philosophy having the ability to apply the knowledge will help the students understand the point of topic, and can see how it will incorporate in society, individual cultures, and their own learning strengths.  Through English and math I have been able to apply my own hands on experience for the students to understand the purpose of the task at hand.  I incorporate daily experience throughout all my lessons.  During this time in the education system students tend to lose focus on what is important in the future and in the near future. Using daily tools that the students come across helps improves their overall understanding of what the task or topic is.  This also steers into more fun activity base then work base.

Understanding the attention span of students, technology, use of small electronic devices, captures the students’ attention.  It is my duty to incorporate this and catch the students attention while meeting the curriculum requirements.  Understanding the students will help me deliver better lessons with more appreciation from the students.

I am an active teacher that enjoys hands on work, being inside as well as being outside of the classroom.  Moving from environment to environment allows the students to regroup their thoughts, sort out their own experience, and apply their knowledge to the task at hand.  Students enjoy this because they see the small picture, where as I as a teacher sees the bigger picture.  Breaking up the lessons I find helps settle the students and refocuses them to the next subject or topic.  Having that time to regroup helps the lower end students to keep up with the high achieving students without being singling out.

Teaching has been a desire of mine since I was young, with my own education and hard work I accomplished my dream, and I want to help make that possible for my students.  Being involved in the learning process elaborates on the amount of passion and excitement I deliver in my teaching.   Educating is my life work and giving 100% in each subject and sub category.  Knowing that every day when I am in the classroom teaching, I am making a difference and learning as well.

Teaching is a career that both teaching and learning is a partnership between the children and myself.  The children will teach me how to become a better teacher, and each day striving to be better than the day before.   This field is a learning field with the proper strategies and techniques the children will be given the best possible learning environment.
